Two different news photographers took

The pictures above were first seen on
TV-9 news program in Denver Colorado when a story by Susan Wells and Jack Maher was aired on 9/16/2001 at 8:48 AM in a newscast. One
photo was from Associated Press and
2nd one from CNN.
CNN hasn't commented, AP says its
photo is not altered.
The AP photo was transmitted within forty
minutes of 9-11-01 attack by freelancer
Mark D. Phillips, who has worked with AP
for over 15 years. Barbara Moike was the
editor on AP picture desk that morning
and told 9NEWS that AP has a strict
policy prohibiting alterations of content
of photo in any way. She sent picture to
AP subscribers as she'd received it.
AP photo executive, Vin Alabiso's said,
"the smoke in photo combined with the light,
and shadows, has created image that readers
have seen in different ways." The strange face that is seen in smoky clouds of the burning buildings in both
photos appears to resemble the Devil to those viewing the pictures! CNN photo
was posted on 1st day of attack, but has
since been taken down. 9NEWS couldn't
get official comment from anyone there,
but they say they have similar
policy on pictures, regarding content
alterations.
