Beneath The Capitol's Dome  

The government is nothing but a mess, 
And they show they are confused.
Because they keep buying things
That sit around and go unused.

So many people are reaching out, 
And everybody is expecting help.
I wonder how the people made it
When they had to help themselves.  

Politicians think they are an emperor,
Like Nero who ruled in ancient Rome. 
How can they justify the spending
From beneath the capitol's dome? 

Politicians spend our taxes,  
And create laws we don't need. 
The government is passing bills
That many never read.

Instead of people standing up, 
And trying to make things right.
People all shrug their shoulders, 
because they don't want to fight.

Politicians think they are an emperor,
