I Didn't Let My Feelings Show

I had feelings of love inside of me,
Which I didn't ever let others see.
I loved my son more than he could know,
Because I didn't let my feelings show.

I also loved my dad, more than he knew,
Because words we spoke were so few.
He molded me from a boy, to be who I am.
I never said thank you as I had planned.

So many I loved, died and didn't know
Because I had feelings I never showed.
I had thought they'd always be around,
And now they are buried in the ground.

I loved my brother, but I never told him so.
I never got to see him before his time to go.
We took being loved for granted in my family,
So expressing what we felt never came easily.
