I Wouldn't Trust What My Heart Heard.

You walked away from a fire as it still burned,
When I called out you didn't even stop or turn.
You left me standing and you just walked away,
Ohhhhhh how it hurts whenever I recall that day.

Rejection made my heart turn so hard, and cold.
I lost the only one that I ever longed to hold.
My views on life and love came to be revised,
When I met with heartbreak, it made me wise.

I enclosed my heart in a brick wall,
I rejected love that I might've saw.
I gave up believing in loving words,
I wouldn't trust what my heart heard.

I never thought that I'd love again,
I gave up looking and lost my friends.
Then she came and she touched my soul.
She was loving with her heart of gold.

Slowly my heart came alive again,
She made all of my heartache end.
She got me trusting things I'd hear,
I thank God that he brought her here.
