Katie Bar The Door Here comes another lawman, Katie run and bar the door. I've already shot six of them, I don't want to kill no more. I just want to rest awhile , All the diggings made me tired. And I'm sorry I shot all six, That I've buried in our yard. I keep working day and night, Making "lightning" by the drum. They know they'll never catch me, As long as I can shoot this gun. Seems like now they'd give up, Let me be, stop coming round. Cause every one that came, Is now six feet in the ground. Chorus: Katie if you see someone coming, Bar the door, don't let him in. The Bible says killing's wrong, And It says that it is a sin. I've got six notches on my gun, I don't want to shoot again. So if you see one coming, Katie, Bar the door, don't let him in. I know I broke the law, With the things I had to do. But there was no other way, With all the bills coming due. Now the Devil has my soul, Because I've done wrong. If I had prayed for help, God would've come along. Chorus: Katie if you see someone coming, Bar the door, don't let him in. The Good Book says killing's wrong , And It says that it is a sin. I've got six notches on my gun, I don't want to shoot again. So if you see one coming, Katie, Bar the door, don't let him in. Copyright 2001 By: Judy Fink/Glenn Smith (All rights reserved)
