Memories That Never Died Our paths took a different turn. When our lives kept goin' wrong. As I packed my boxes up to move, I found pictures from back home. Her faded photo brought memories Of my youth when love had bloomed. We dated through our junior year. And I can still smell her perfume. I received a card at reunion time, Tellin' about where we would meet. I had hopes that she'd be there. With other friends I would greet. We were 17 when we were torn apart, My family's movin' broke our hearts. The night before we left, she cried, But we made memories that never died. Reunion time, and I met old friends, She came up sayin', "Old times again." I asked her about her past and family. And she let me know that she was free. The rest today is our history, Time brought her back to me. Yesterday's flames came again, And made us more than friends. We were 17 when we were torn apart, My family's movin' broke our hearts. The night before we left, she cried, But we made memories that never died. Copyright 2000 by Glenn Smith/Shelley Marcotte (All rights reserved)
