A Parent Has To Sacrifice When I was a little boy, I had so many dreams. But then when I grew up, I saw things I hadn't seen. Mom would run the house, Dad's work paid the bills. The table was never bare, We'd always eat our fill. The things I didn't see, Now appears plain to me. A parent has to sacrifice, When they raise a family. Dad would work overtime, When the kids needed shoes. They both would do without, When all the bills were due. They did things we never saw. And they always put us first. Mom cooked us treats to eat, A coke would quench our thirst. Now that I'm a parent, When my times are bad. I hide it from my kids, Just like mom and dad. The things I didn't see, Now appears plain to me. A parent has to sacrifice, When they raise a family. Copyright 2001 By: Glenn Smith (All rights reserved)
